9 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (21 April - Results & Review)
1. Dangerous Alliance 2.0
Almost immediately after Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins joined forces at WrestleMania 41, fans began speculating whether the Wiseman would seek to re-form the Dangerous Alliance.
Anyone under 35 is forgiven for not recognizing that name. As Paul E. Dangerously, Heyman formed the Dangerous Alliance in the AWA in 1987, and it lived on in WCW and even ECW in the 90s. The group at one point featured Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, Larry Zbyszko, “Stunning” Steve Austin, and Rick Rude – quite the gathering of talent.
If Heyman is bringing the group back – either under that name or a different moniker – you can bet that he’s not resurrecting it as a midcard stable. He’s also not going to fill it with Curtis Axel and Ryback types. (No disrespect to those guys.)
Already, Heyman has vacuumed up Rollins and Bron Breakker, creating a solid foundation. Recruiting a tag team, a female wrestler or two (coincidentally, one just turned heel on Raw), and a couple of other heavy hitters would give him a stable that could run roughshod over Raw.
It also would serve as a focal point for babyfaces to unify and rally against throughout the year, rather than the disjointed and slapdash booking of the past year. During 2023, the Judgment Day filled this role on a smaller level, with varying combinations of Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Jey Uso battling them on Raw to great success.
The real fun now will be seeing who joins Heyman, and who steps up to combat his new stable.
