9 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Mar 25)

Downs...

5. The Absence Of Ambience

The lack of wrestlers at ringside hurt last night's Dynamite.

This isn't AEW's fault, so we won't go too hard on them, but if something has a detrimental impact on the show then it needs to be pointed out. It's a Down. A soft one.

Having MJF, Shawn Spears, Colt Cabana, and more gathered around ringside gave the previous episode life, though it was no substitute for a white-hot crowd. With AEW prevented from grouping more than 10 people in the same place at once, they couldn't do this again. The substitute was constant cuts to Chris Jericho, Spears, the Gunn Club, and more sat around a television somewhere backstage, which was more of a distraction than anything else.

A shame, and while this didn't ruin the show outright, the necessary downgrade absolutely took it down a notch.
