9 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Nov 27)

4. Miz & Kofi Get Silly

The Miz and Kofi Kingston's sharp seven-minuter delivered solid fundamentals and was growing into an exciting little clash by the end, only to unravel through gross overbooking.

Their setup segment's tone and The New Day's ringside presence meant this was always likely. That doesn't make it any less distracting, though. We got Miz removing a turnbuckle pad, Big E covering said 'buckle with pancakes, Miz going after Xavier Woods, Miz pretending E attacked him, Miz for after a chair, Xavier snatching it, and Kingston scoring the opportunistic finisher/pinfall, all in a few minutes. It was way, way too much.

Not all screwy finishes are created equally, and The New Day's antics aren't always so troublesome. This wasn't awful; just tiresome, and while we didn't expect any kind of four-star banger out of these two in a midcard TV bout, last night was disappointing.
