3. The Goon Squad

There's a lot to unpack with the ongoing Roman Reigns vs. the McMahons rivalry. We'll get to the rest of it later, but Shane's Goon Squad is a brewing concern.

The B-Team almost make sense as ineffective henchmen, because, well, they're ineffective. They're exactly the kind of guys Reigns should be Superman Punching his way through with ease. Shouldn't Shane know this, though? Shouldn't he realise that these dorks are about as threatening as Care Bear toys, and therefore recognise that they aren't the best choice of allies?

Elias' affiliation is more problematic. He is, ostensibly, a jobber to the stars, but not a goon, even though they're going to make him look like one as this angle progresses.

The endgame is almost certainly Shane vs. Roman at some point, with Reigns overcoming Elias on an upcoming show. If this happens, 'The Drifter' will have never looked so unimportant. A shame, because he can be an effective upper-midcard heater.
