1. Who Was The Real Loser Here?

Indi Hartwell Dexter Lumis

Well, here we are. After a seemingly never-ending tale of love, loss, and lunacy, Dexter Lumis found himself with a chance to finally ride off into the sunset with the love of his life. Only one obstacle stood in his way, a rather over-protective father figure - although one who had more than a few understandable concerns about the dude fond of kidnapping and sketching slightly unnerving doodles.

The bout itself contained some rather explosive and engaging spots, with Lumis once again showcasing how much he has to offer when it comes to his in-ring game, blasting Johnny Gargano with a delicious spinebuster and his trademark kip-up leg drop. Yet, this was always sadly going to devolve into slapstick, soap opera territory and the minute Indi Hartwell showed up to lend her support, sh*t hit the fan.

Endless stunned stares, attempts to sabotage, and constant reminders of the barmy stipulation that hung over this nonsense overshadowed some rather impressive wrestling all in all. In the end, though, it was evil (but not really) that overcame good (but not really) in the end as Johnny sealed the victory with a One Final Beat - saving his apprentice from the clutches of a mad man - to the sound of boos inside of the CWC.

That still didn't stop Indi from storming down to the ring and getting frisky with Lumis shortly after, to the sheer joy of those in attendance. Your writer is clearly missing something here, because a sizeable part of NXT's audience were all in on the steely eyed weirdo getting the girl.

If you love it, then buckle up for more The Way/Lumis shenanigans for weeks to come. If you can't stand it, well, at least the wrestling will be good. Sometimes.
