If you’re looking for reasons why Raw’s ratings are in the gutter and superstars are turning down big-money contracts, look no further than the stupidity, pettiness and channel-changing magic that was the Revival segment with the Usos.

The entire segment was insane stupidity from beginning to end, and it only served to turn two teams who should be cornerstones of the Raw tag division into utter jokes. The Revival got over by being no-nonsense technical wrestlers who were throwbacks to the duos of the 80s. The Usos reinvented themselves as a hard-edged, streetwise tag team.

Monday night was an abomination. The Revival was reduced to “comically” selling icy hot being inside their tights, and the Usos were turned into a “comedy” duo with props.

But hey, Vince McMahon was laughing it up backstage, right? That’s all that matters. That’ll show Revival for whatever transgression they’ve allegedly committed.

Just an awful, awful moment that left the live audience silent. If this writer wasn’t doing this column, this would have been the moment he turned Raw off and didn’t come back to it for a good, long time.
