9 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE Raw (June 2)

7. Paying Off 24/7 Foolishness

OK, it wasn’t the most spectacular closure to an angle, but after last week’s setup, at least we got the payoff Monday night.

Rob Gronkowski is no longer the WWE 24/7 Champion. His near two-month reign ended when R-Truth, disguised as a landscaper, rolled Gronk up while he was making a TikTok video. This came after last week’s dueling promos between Truth and Gronk about the title the football tight end won at WrestleMania 36.

You can’t blame WWE for taking a chance on Gronk with the title for notoriety, but once he signed to play football again, they needed to get the title off him or just deactivate it. Thankfully, they pulled the trigger quickly on this rather than dragging it out for weeks on end.

Now, can we get back to a little silliness with the title? Maybe they can recapture some of the gold from last year during this empty arena era.
