9 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 3)

3. Garza’s Strong Debut

It really doesn’t get much better in your Raw debut than injuring (in storyline) a WWE legend.

Angel Garza, who lost his NXT Cruiserweight Championship less than two weeks ago, showed up on Raw as an associate of Zelina Vega, first confronting his cousin Humberto Carrillo, then having his debut match against Rey Mysterio.

The match was good without giving away too much of what a full throwdown between the two could look like, and it ended with Garza hitting a DDT on the exposed concrete, drawing a DQ. Just like that, Angel established himself as a smarmy, cocky, despicable heel. Those who’ve seen him on NXT know he’s perfectly capable of backing up that impression, which is about as good as you could ask.

Not bad for a first week.
