Remember way, way back when Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio had a feud over Rey’s son Dominic and they had a match to determine custody of the boy? The young son’s wooden presence and lack of emotions was one of the criticisms of the feud.

Fast-forward to Monday night, when Rey was about to retire and unmask, and Dominic intervened to stop him from quitting, begging him to stay in WWE so when he debuts, they can team up for his first match. It was a heartfelt, personal and passionate intercession…

…At least it would have been if Dominic didn’t sound like he was reading off a cue card. Maybe it’s not fair to criticize a young man who is training to be a wrestler – not an actor – but let’s face it, in today’s wrestling world, the acting is as much a part of the role as the in-ring action.

And Dominic’s “performance” dragged down what was a really good segment. It isn’t the worst thing in the world, nor does it diminish the overall storyline, but for one minute, things ground to a halt.
