9 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 19)
1. New Day Chumps
Man, you almost forgot New Day were six-time tag team champs, with the current WWE Champion in their ranks, didn’t you?
That’s because Randy Orton and The Revival have made them look completely ineffective the past week. Orton, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder wiped out the trio on SmackDown last week, and they did the same thing again on Raw, with Randy RKO’ing all three men.
And you’ll see later that Orton and The Revival deserve kudos for making themselves a bit more relevant, but we’ve gotta give a thumbs-down to just how impotent Kofi Kingston in particular looked, being held by the chin by Orton and “forced” to watch Revival bust Xavier Woods’ knee.
It wasn’t like Kofi had been pummeled into submission – he suffered one RKO a full minute earlier and was unable to fight back or even pull himself to his feet afterward. Meanwhile, Big E took the first RKO and was out of commission for the full segment.
