5. Acknowledge Reigns

Edge Roman Reigns

You had to wonder if what we’ve been seeing on our TVs the last year with Roman Reigns really would translate in front of fans. Sunday, we got our answer.

Roman undeniably was over as the heel champ, with fans gleefully booing him, but also into him enough to react to everything he did. You need that kind of investment from fans to really make a match sizzle – a heel to actively boo and a babyface to rally behind. It’s really a testament to Reigns’ work to reinvent himself as a dominant and egotistical, yet insecure and vulnerable, champion.

Edge came close on numerous occasions to toppling the champ, but Roman found a way amidst all the distractions to sneak another victory, leaving him on the mountaintop for another month.

We’re clearly seeing Reigns’ best, but you have to wonder if the fans being back will only help him elevate his game even more.
