9 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2021

Downs...

6. A Small Gripe

Bobby Lashley Kofi Kingston

It’s completely understandable that WWE is somewhat rebooting Bobby Lashley’s character by having him shed all the frivolities like his ladies, the champagne and the VIP lounge.

If he’s supposed to become a killer on the level of a Brock Lesnar or Goldberg (or potentially face one of them soon), he’ll need to get serious. But the fact that WWE flushed a month of great buildup with Kofi Kingston to job him out in an extended squash Sunday night was damn near criminal.

We’re not suggesting that Kofi should have gone over, or even come really close to winning, but the guy was run over like roadkill by a charging Lashley. He could have landed a few moves, maybe fought a bit more. After all those impassioned promos and making a believer out of fans on Raw, to have him squashed in minutes like that really let the air out of the balloon.

At the same time, that’s pretty much the point. Hence, the minor gripe here.
