9 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 17)

4. A ‘Prestigious’ Trophy

WWE is obligated to try to make every award and recognition feel special. That’s a given.

But when you are throwing together a gauntlet match that involves Erick Rowan and R-Truth and try to call it “prestigious,” that’s just straining the bounds of credibility. Still, that’s what Tom Phillips called the Tuwaiq Trophy that would go to the winner of the gauntlet match.

Did we mention this is the first-ever Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match? Yep, the first time this trophy has ever reared its head, and Truth and Rowan are one-third of the field, but it’s prestigious because the announcers said so!

At least when they call the Intercontinental Championship prestigious, it’s at least believable. This is almost comical.
