9 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (April 25)

8. A Wishful Segment

While the Make-A-Wish segment was done as a bumper and not part of Raw, it deserves some credit for one important thing: The commercial included more than a dozen superstars interacting with children, not just uber wish-granter John Cena. That is a pretty nice departure from typical WWE canon about Make-A-Wish.

Typically, Cena receives tons of credit for his prolific wish-granting €“ deservedly so €“ while other superstars who grant wishes are mostly overlooked and ignored. (CM Punk called attention to this in his Colt Cabana interview in 2014.) But this commercial was different. It included comments from Dolph Ziggler, Roman Reigns, Natalya and Dean Ambrose, with shots of Big Show, Mark Henry, Charlotte, Sheamus, Triple H, Miz and others taking time with children (was Brock Lesnar in there too?).

The segment highlighted all of WWE together doing good works, which is a good way to make the company as a whole look better, rather than just one megastar. It also gives credit and recognition to the others for their charity work.
