Bet you didn€™t think this would be an €œup,€ did you?

WWE dropped a very short comment just before the Usos/Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows match, noting that John Cena, out since late December with a shoulder injury, would return on the Memorial Day episode of Raw, five weeks away. Cena€™s shoulder injury originally was supposed to keep him out of action for six to nine months, but his amazing recuperative powers trimmed that to five months.

Let€™s face it: John Cena has been missed on WWE television. Sure, no one wants to see him running roughshod over the entire roster, overcoming adversity by beating up three guys at once en route to another world title run. But during the past year, Cena had been pretty reliable in the ring and did a great job making the United States Championship a valuable title. His U.S. Championship open challenge was consistently one of the best parts of Raw.

And like it or not, Cena is one of WWE€™s biggest stars. He can only help draw more fans to watch and attend WWE events. And if that happens and more people see AJ Styles, Cesaro, Sami Zayn and others, then hopefully they€™ll learn to love them as well. Cena€™s at the point in his career where he doesn€™t need to be €œthe€ guy all the time, but his presence could be a big boost.
