9 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 7th)

5. A Shane Primer

Typically, a video recap package would fall under the €œDowns€ category, but WWE was smart to show fans a package of Shane McMahon match highlights.

To any fans who started watching WWE in the past six years and who haven€™t gone back and watched a lot of Attitude Era content (which would make them fools), they might have no idea of what Shane has done in the ring through the years. They very well might be thinking that the Undertaker is going to maul the 46-year-old executive in a matter of seconds and wonder why this is suddenly a marquee matchup. Why? Because he€™s a McMahon?

Well, yes. But also, Shane is a daredevil in the ring. He€™s known for his risk-taking antics, and the video package did a nice job of highlighting many of those crazy moments. If you had never seen Shane wrestle before, this only helped you form a better opinion of what he can do in the ring.

The other thing that helped was Shane going to town on security earlier in the show, delivering €œrealistic€ punches and knees to the guards rather than hitting clotheslines and other wrestling moves. By using fists and knees, Shane looked more like an aggressive, scrappy fighter than a polished wrestler. But he also looked tougher as a result.
