9 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2020

Ups...

9. Simple But Effective

Bobby Lashley R-Truth

This column has been hard on Bobby Lashley and his stalled pushes since his return to WWE a couple years ago, and rightfully so. WWE has squandered a chance to do something – anything – useful and memorable with Lashley.

The most recent attempt to reignite him has seen him mow down a few opponents while keeping wife Lana backstage so he can focus on his in-ring efforts. It’s been average at best and not exactly compelling TV.

Sunday, however, Lashley came out before a scheduled R-Truth/MVP match and took MVP’s spot, telling him to take the night off. Lashley proceeded to demolish Truth, squashing him in a couple quick minutes. That little setup and execution was more effective that anything they’ve done in a while with Lashley, having him pull a switch and then run through a well-liked wrestler.

That’s not to say that all is forgiven about how mishandled Lashley has been – or that the situation could regress in a matter of days or weeks – but for Sunday night, we’ll give it passing marks.
