A mixed-tag team match on the kickoff show shouldn’t be graded on the same scale as the main event of SummerSlam, so with that low bar in mind, we’ll give an “up” to the match pitting Rusev and Lana against Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega.

The match itself wasn’t anything special, with the men handling the bulk of the wrestling before turning it over to the women. Lana dominated with some basic moves and looked to be closing in on victory before Almas provided a distraction, allowing Vega to get a rollup (with the ropes) for the win.

Even though it’s a loss, it doesn’t really reflect on Rusev, but it really is crazy to think that he’s gone from a WWE Championship match to a mixed-tag match on the kickoff show in one month.
