9 Ways WWE Failed Miserably On The Road To WrestleMania 32
8. Not Doing Owens Vs. Zayn One-On-One
If there was ever a rivalry built for the grand stage of WrestleMania, it's that of the two best friends turned bloodfeuding bitter enemies. The electricity whenever Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens square off lights up any arena it takes place in, be it NXT or WWE (or the independent scene). On this past Raw, during the six-man tag, the confrontation between the two was teased several times to a raucous response. The angle has been built masterfully in a holdover of their previous on the indies, and the fans were more than ready to see the two go at it under the bright lights of WrestleMania. The match would be a guaranteed standout and would possibly even steal the show and give both men the opportunity to make their mark and further impress the top brass. But instead of doing the obvious and going with the one-on-one bout, WWE has decided to book yet another bloated multi-man clusterf**k of a match. Included in this are Sin Cara (who hasn't done anything lately outside of a few rare tag appearances), Stardust (who's basically a jobber at this point), and future WWE Hall of Fame Zack Ryder. Throw in perpetual underachiever Dolph Ziggler and you've got...a match. Yeah, it's a match. To top it off, it's a ladder match, which are always enjoyable car crashes but there's no real storyline to this thing outside of the heat between Zayn and Owens and everyone else united in their agreement that KO is an a**hole. WWE really dropped the ball by trying to get as many guys as possible on the card instead of going with the logical one-on-one match.
