9 Ways WWE Failed Miserably On The Road To WrestleMania 32
9. Too Much Styles & Jericho
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the match-up between longtime WWE veteran Chris Jericho and WWE newcomer AJ Styles. Even at Jericho's advanced age (in wrestling terms, at least), he's still one of the best all-around workers in the company and is a tremendous heel. He knows how to get his opponent over and should be commended for how unselfish he's been in the latter half of his career. AJ Styles debuted to much fanfare and has had some great showings in WWE rings over the past few months. The problem is that nearly every single match and segment he's been involved with has involved Chris Jericho in some way. The two have already had a match on Raw as well as a hotly-contested bout at Fastlane that saw Styles win by submission. Not only have they already faced each other several times both on free TV and PPV, but we've already seen Y2J kick out of the Styles Clash, something that should have been reserved for a later date in a much more important match. Like, say, WrestleMania 32. So the two are back at it again and will have to work very hard to top their previous work. I have the utmost faith that they can do so, but the special feel of the showdown is all but gone.
