9 Ways WWE Raw Setup Tonight's Draft
1. Seth To Be Steph's No. 1 Pick?
One of the biggest developments from Monday Night Raw, though, was the suggestion that Seth Rollins will be the number one pick for Stephanie McMahon’s Raw brand.
That’s not necessarily me getting ahead of myself—Steph made it painfully obvious that Seth is indeed her guy, applauding his every move in the main event and even attempting to announce him the winner of a match that ended in a draw.
The reason she was so keen to ensure Seth left with the title is that her number one pick in the WWE Draft pretty much has to be the WWE Champion—otherwise it not only undermines the title, but she’s going to look like an absolute moron for passing up the chance to sign the top-billed guy in the company.
Now, in reality Rollins isn’t actually champion. But the dubious finish of Raw’s main event means that she can at least claim that he is and thus select him as her number one draft pick. It’s slightly long-winded but at least it makes a whole lot more sense than having the WWE Champion not picked first on the WWE Draft.
Of course, here’s where they go and prove me wrong and do whatever they fancy regardless...
Either way, these developments from Raw this week only add to the intrigue surrounding Tuesday’s Draft and the accompanying debut of SmackDown live.
