9 Ways WWE Raw Setup Tonight's Draft
2. Shane Plants A Seed
While Daniel Bryan is the one in this new SmackDown duo who’s been doing most of the gardening lately, it was Shane who planted a seed of his own on Monday Night Raw this week.
In a backstage segment with Mick Foley, Shane suggested that the reason Steph might have brought Mick on board was that she felt she could manipulate and control him. This leads on from the earlier point about the odd dynamic between Steph and Mick—not least because one’s a face and one’s a heel.
But with Shane actually directly referencing this on the show, it seems that a power struggle between Mick and Steph could be set to become a focal point of Raw.
And we could see the first fight in this battle for control on Tuesday’s Draft on SmackDown. Will they clash over which names to pick? Surely Steph will override Mick, but you can’t imagine he’d take that lying down.
Either way, Shane certainly seemed to think there was trouble ahead, in what was another subtle storyline development that they were wise to touch upon on Raw.
