It would be a stretch to say that Paul Bearer trained to practice as a mortician in order that he could later become Undertaker's super-spooky ringside accomplice, not least of all because he hadn't even met Undertaker when he started doing it.

But what better preparation could there possibly have been for the role of manager of The Deadman, than spending all your time around actual dead bodies? His foresight was absolutely incredible, even if it may have been accidental all the same.

Incidentally, while Bearer may not have deliberately set himself up for a career as one of the industry's great character actors, anyone who has seen him speak in a non-kayfabe setting will know that he really did sound like that. He had essentially been practising for wrestling his whole life.
