9 Wrestlers With Seriously Complex Backstories

3. Bray Wyatt And The Wyatt Family

The Wyatt Family has only been around for just over one year, and in that short amount of time, the villainous stable has managed to strike fear into the hearts of their competitors. Prior to their debut, a series of vignettes aired featuring Bray Wyatt preaching and prophesying in a cryptic manner. The group was further portrayed as a backwoods, swamp-dwelling, redneck cult, with Bray as the leader. Upon their debut, the Wyatts went after Kane, eventually kidnapping him. Later, they would convince Daniel Bryan to join their ranks for a short time. While Bray is often shown to be an intelligent -- if slightly deranged -- individual, his cohorts are usually portrayed as dim-witted and nearly brainwashed. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have since branched out on their own a bit, but at the start, they were at the beck and command of Bray Wyatt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdDyQ1Qxtvg Carrying a lantern and sitting in a rocking chair, Bray frequently seems on the brink of insanity. His character is loosely based on that of Max Cady from the remake of Cape Fear. Portrayed by Robert DeNiro, Cady is out for revenge on those he feels have wronged him. However, like Bray, he€™s no dummy but is an intelligent, scheming, vengeful mastermind.
