There will be pieces longer and wider ranging than this list entry written about this match for years to come.

Or if not, that was certainly the reaction felt on impulse as this remarkably enjoyable show went off the air. And that's what you're here for, right?

In an incandescent display, Roman Reigns flexed his muscles literally before doing so creatively over what must surely be the best 23 minutes of WWE television this year. 'The Big Dog' brutalised his cousin Jey Uso in a deliberate and controlled manner that never once felt boring and continued his campaign of menace and rage waged since SummerSlam.

That it was a family member taking the beating only enhanced the evocative trash talk Reigns offered during moments of dominance. His words carried the weight of his threats on the go-home SmackDown, reemphasising his role not only as a very very bad man, but one that backs up what he says. Uso's hope spots were just that - hopeful - but the inevitable and bloodthirsty stoppage win was as overpowering as the strikes that rained down on the former Tag Champion throughout.

A foregone conclusion has never been so utterly thrilling, and it may take days, weeks and months for the power of early heel turn epic to sink in.
