9 WWE Superstars Who Could Debut (Or Return) The Raw After WrestleMania 40

3. Matt Cardona

Despite it seeming somewhat inevitable that the former Zack Ryder would once again become a WWE Superstar last year, Matt Cardona still hasn't returned to the world of sports entertainment... yet.

'The Deathmatch King's own wife seems to think it's "only a matter of time" before Cardona bursts back onto the WWE scene, and the star himself still refuses to close the door on a possible comeback.

However, if Cardona were to make a sensational return on the night after WrestleMania XL, don't expect to see him appear in that aforementioned Ryder gimmick. The independent scene star has admitted that, if it was up to him, he'd make that long-awaited return to WWE as Matt Cardona. And it's not hard to see why.

In the wake of his release all the way back in 2020, a rejuvenated and reinvented Cardona has gone on to become one of the most successful performers in the business, earning a ton of money and being the "happiest" he's ever been during this current run outside of WWE.

But he would still happily take that call if WWE were interested in bringing back the former United States Champion. And it's safe to say the Raw after WrestleMania XL crowd would give him quite the "welcome back" reception if 'Papa H' does ultimately pick up the phone.
