9 WWE & WCW Championships You Never Knew Existed

We all know the standard titles, but here are 9 often forgotten championships.

Championship titles are a symbol of excellence in the wrestling world. Carrying a strap of gold means that a wrestler has achieved something with their career. Furthermore, it often means that a wrestling promotion has put at least a modicum of faith in the appointed superstar. Quite simply, championship belts are what wrestlers fight for. There are many titles that have been around for a long time, having built respect and prestige over the years. The old standards, so to speak, will likely continue to be around for the foreseeable future -- as they are well established and revered amongst both fans and competitors. However, there are a great deal of now-retired titles from wrestling€™s past, many of which most fans have never heard of. While some past championships -- such as the European, Hardcore, and Cruiserweight titles, among others -- are widely known by wrestling fans, there are just too many belts for everyone of them to be remembered. That€™s why we€™re here. We€™re going to take a look back at some of these forgotten wrestling titles, and just because they are not remembered well, does not mean that they were any less prestigious in their day. Furthermore, some of these belts were around for just a brief passing glimpse, while others stuck around for years or decades. Join us as we reminisce about some of professional wrestling€™s championships that you likely never knew existed.
