Wrestling is not without risks. On many occasions performers have found themselves gaining a seemingly career ending injury and leaving the industry as a result. This was certainly the case for Shawn Michaels at the start of 1998 as a bad landing during his Casket Match with The Undertaker meant he herniated two discs in his back. He wrestled only once more by dropping the title to Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14. Everybody, including Shawn himself, thought his in ring career was finished. Wrestling fans do love a good comeback though.

Four and a half years later Shawn Michaels was medically cleared to wrestle again and faced his previous friend turned foe Triple H in a Street Fight at SummerSlam 2002. There can be no greater reason to get behind a babyface wrestler than seeing them come back to the ring when it was thought impossible. Not only is the build up fantastic but the match itself is superb as well. Any lingering thoughts about how Shawn would be limited in what he could do or somehow be a shadow of his former self were quickly eliminated.

The other matches on the card on this show are also of a high calibre. It features one of the best WWE opening matches in the shape of Rey Mysterio versus Kurt Angle, Edge versus Eddie Guerrero and The Rock defending the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar in a battle of generations.
