The Storylines
Now is a good time to talk about the WWE formula. There are usually 4 weeks of shows, in which all of the storylines (also called feuds) from those shows cumulate into a Pay Per View event at the end of the month. Keeping up on storylines is most likely the main reason people decide to watch WWE programming. Most of the other reasons will end up blending into this one.
The In-Ring Ability
There are some people who only watch to see the actual art of wrestling, because wrestling really is an art form; It takes a ton of practice and athleticism to get people to believe that you are getting the bejesus kicked out of you. For this reason, a lot of people appreciate and will watch for this sole reason. The athleticism of WWE superstars is usually severely underrated; most people will just categorize them as wrestlers, and totally discount their athletic ability. The reality is, basically all of these guys (even Big Showa seven-foot, 400+ lb. giant, who will sometimes perform diving maneuvers off the top rope) are athletic, and some can even be subjectively categorized as freak-athletes (see---Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston). It is almost like watching your favorite professional sport player do what he does best. Take Kobe Bryant for example. There are many fans that dont care about the Lakers, but will just watch Laker games to see how Kobe works his magic on the courtno different here for WWE fans watching the art form and athleticism in wrestling. This also transitions perfectly into the next category
