The Spectacle
This is what got me into wrestling when I was younger. Seeing the fireworks, the stage set-ups, the entrances, etc. just drew me in. The spectacle now is much grander than it was when I started watching, however. Going to WrestleMania 29 was quite the experience seeing the huge set, as well as the large Statue of Liberty replica over the ring. Just seeing these things alone can draw people in to see what setup the WWE can come up with next. The entrances are also a big part of this. Watching guys like The Shield come out of the crowd, with their "I own this place" attitude and the badass music is just awesome to watch. As you can see, WWE really is the perfect blend of sports and entertainment, combining the best of both genres. Sports fans will feel right at home with the competition and other aspects of sport that go with wrestling---like number-one-contender tournaments, or having play-by-play and color commentary going along with the action. Entertainment fans will love the storylines, drama, action etc. This is why WWE appeals to so many people, because there truly is no demographic that they cater to; WWE is literally supposed to be enjoyed by everyone, no matter the age. Its pretty cool asking people why they like WWE and receiving responses such as I like watching the entrances, or I like the video packages they play before big matches. This just shows how broad and complex WWE programming is. Its not just men and women rolling around in spandexthere's so much more to it, and thats why WWE is so great.
