AEW Booking Plans For Buddy Matthews Revealed?
Here's what AEW may have in mind for the former Buddy Murphy.
As covered earlier today, some people within All Elite Wrestling believe top free agent Buddy Matthews (formerly Murphy in WWE) is on his way to America's second-biggest promotion, with creative plans either pitched or decided upon outright.
One of these plans may involve joining up with an old WWE rival in Malakai Black.
Speaking on today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that he had heard talk of Matthews as the "third guy" in the House of Black. This would mean teaming up with Malakai and his Kings of the Black Throne partner, Brody King.
King and Black teased adding a new member to their group in a pretaped segment that aired on last night's episode of Dynamite. The duo are currently booked to face PAC and Penta el Zero Miedo of Death Triangle next week, which may be used as a vehicle to revive the latter's Penta Oscuro character from Lucha Underground.
Released by WWE in June 2021, Matthews has technically been a free agent since his 90-day non-compete clause expired that September. He is yet to pledge his future to a full-time deal with another promotion despite working for such companies as NJPW in recent months.
