AEW Double Or Nothing 2021: 37 Things You Probably Missed

21. Paul Wight Went Quiet

This could've been coincidental, but it's worth mentioning.

Paul Wight, who was a guest commentator for 'Casino', went totally quiet for the final 90 seconds or so of the countdown before AEW's 'Joker' wild card came out. That turned out to be ex-WWE man Lio Rush, and Wight didn't wrestle as some thought/feared he might going in.

Maybe Paul went quiet to trick viewers watching at home into thinking he was readying for his entrance? Just a guess.

20. Her Majesty’s Disapproval

There were some brilliant signs on this pay-per-view, and one of the best referenced Anthony Ogogo's Britishness. A fan held up one that said, "One Does Not Approve Of Ogogo!". They also glued on a pic of Queen Elizabeth II in the upper left hand corner.

Nice gold trim on that snap too. Her Majesty would likely approve of that (she's also totally an Ant fan, let's be honest).

19. Cody Rhodes Goes Sting

Cody Rhodes was less Dusty's 'American Dream' and more Sting circa WCW's Great American Bash 1990 pay-per-view for his match with Ogogo. Cody came out in an elaborate entrance jacket that smacked of the Stinger's patriotic look 31 years ago.

He also had the short, spiked blonde hair, a similar physique and very familiar-looking blue gear with red, white and gold flourishes. It's almost surprising that Jim Ross, who announced Sting's match with Ric Flair back in '90, didn't pick up on any of this.
