AEW Double Or Nothing 2022: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

5. ‘Anarchy In The Arena’ Bombs

AEW’s bigger gimmick matches are usually good fun. 'Blood & Guts' was a blast (the camera angle on that Chris Jericho bump aside), and 'Stadium Stampede' has become a proven winner. However, this 'Anarchy In The Arena' bout probably won’t have the scale or uniqueness of ‘Stampede’.

Being brutally honest too, last year’s version (whilst still fun) wasn’t a patch on the original. Could this 'Anarchy' offering be a case of diminishing returns and one too many wild brawls for All Elite? They do kick the arse out of these multi-man situations, and they are starting to feel a bit worn out three years in.

Audience apathy is a real worry.

Seeing fans sit on their hands or visit the refreshment stalls as Eddie Kingston is trying to avenge his fireball agony on Jericho would be rubbish, but it's not impossible. After all, AEW must be running out of tricks to make these arena-wide scuffles stand out.
