AEW Double Or Nothing 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True
5. FTR Suffer Another Short Reign
FTR are no strangers to the criminally-short AEW title treatment themselves. They previously held the Tag-Team belts for a measly 63 days back in 2020. This second stint with the straps will sit at a similar mark when they stroll into Double Or Nothing for a drama-fuelled match vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal.
Will history repeat itself here? It's possible. The addition of Mark Briscoe as special guest ref certainly adds the threat of shenanigans, and the likes of Sonjay Dutt and the towering Satnam Singh will be around ringside too. If All Elite wants to give FTR an out, then they'll have plenty of excuses to do just that.
It'd be rubbish though.
Something feels right about Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler holding those titles for a long, long time. Jarrett and Lethal have been impressive, but they shouldn't win the titles on Sunday. Fans would be facepalming themselves stupid if Tony Khan brushed FTR aside again.
