All Elite Wrestling has opted against cancelling its Double or Nothing pay-per-view scheduled for 23 May, despite last week's news that its host venue - the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas - was ceasing operations amidst the ongoing global health crisis.

AEW confirmed that the event will go ahead from a different location in an official statement released on Tuesday night:-

“AEW’s DOUBLE OR NOTHING event will be televised on pay-per-view as scheduled on Saturday, May 23, at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). Additional details related to DOUBLE OR NOTHING, which was initially scheduled to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, will be revealed in the weeks ahead with features of the event itself ultimately being determined by the latest guidance of national and global health authorities."

The promotion has offered full refunds for those who'd purchased tickets. Alternatively, these people can use their tickets for admission to the 2021 event.

That wrestling promotions are still pushing forward with content production at the moment seems irresponsible at best, given what's currently going on around the world. Escapism is great, yes, but where do we draw the line?
