AEW Full Gear: 10 Things That Must Happen

2. Jake Hager Makes The Difference

As mentioned earlier, there's no need to rush through with an inescapable MJF heel turn on Cody. Letting that story breathe and evolve naturally would be for the best. Besides, it's not like AEW don't have another weapon they can deploy to make sure Chris Jericho retains his bubbly and his belt.

Big Jake Hager, baby.

He should be the difference maker at Full Gear, and the guy who paves the way to his Inner Circle leader's latest victory. Think about it: If Hager interferes, Cody has an out for his "I'll never wrestle for the World Title again" speech nobody believes anyway, and Jake can spin off into a feud with a vengeful Dustin on the next pay-per-view.

All of this adds up to a future rematch between Jericho and Cody, and Hager vs. Dustin on the undercard. Then, AEW would still have the MJF trump card in their back pocket for when Cody is champion. Why would a smart heel like Friedman pull the trigger before then? He'd ride that sucker to the top and then take his prize.
