8. Britt Baker Vs. Tay Conti

Both women worked their socks off here, and yet something just seemed off with this one. The live crowd were rather subdued, and nobody ever seemed to truly buy into the idea that Tay Conti was taking the AEW Women's Title from Britt. That lack of drama held the match back.

It's weird that Anna Jay wasn't at ringside to cheer on her pal too; she's been part of the story all the way through, and the literal build towards Baker's latest defence has been Jamie Hayter and Rebel repeatedly interfering on her behalf. Why are pro wrestling babyfaces so damn thick sometimes?

Decent showing, but this fell short in several key areas. There were arguably too many false finishes (they didn't work due to that aforementioned flat crowd), and Conti temporarily turned into Superwoman for several escape artist spots.

Onto the next for Baker. It remains to be seen if AEW are capable of building up a baby who deserves to supplant her.
