AEW Full Gear 2021: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

4. FTR Vs. Lucha Bros

Fenix FTR
AEW

This AEW Tag Title match was in a tough spot.

It had to follow a blistering opener (more on that later), and that could've squashed its chances of being anything other than throwaway. Thankfully, FTR pays attention to the minor details. Those US and Mexican flag kneepads they rocked (to pay tribute to their AAA Tag straps) were very nice.

Both teams ran through a greatest hits package of spots from their feud thus far. FTR tied Penta's mask to the bottom used, used one of the AAA Tag belts for a convincing near fall (using the belt had bagged them the titles in the first place) and even brought out a 'Super Ranas' mask for good measure.

Granted, the finish made the ref look rather dumb. He counted Cash Wheeler, the legal man, down for the three, then shrugged his shoulders as Tully Blanchard argued that Dax Harwood had been tagged in. That didn't kill the buzz or anything, but it was definitely noticeable.

World class tag-team wrasslin' a-go-go here though.
