Terrible year, unprecedented times, bring on 2021, blah blah blah...

Every evaluation of 2020 is going to say the same thing and you're probably sick of it already. So, let's just get straight to talking about how chuffing fantastic AEW has been this year.

With or without fans in attendance, the All Elite crew have been absolutely on fire in their first full year.

Several match of the year contenders, one of the best tag team matches of all time, and a storyline that has changed the very foundation of wrestling are just a few of the things that Tony Khan and the "Screw You, Stanford" club have on their resume this year.

One of the reasons that AEW has been so successful in 2020 has been the expansion of its roster. All sorts of new faces have rocked up in Jacksonville this year, from the fresh to the familiar, the little-known to the legendary, and they have all had an impact on the fledgling promotion in one way or another. But who's been the best?

According to AEW's official roster page, 21 new wrestlers have officially signed with the promotion in 2020, and we're going through each and every one of them to decide who has been the biggest new star in the company this year.

21. Preston Vance

The rise of the Dark Order has been one of the better things in AEW this year, and one of the many new faces to don the creeper mask was Preston Vance.

Formerly known as Cody Vance or Cody Vincent, the future 10 of the Dark Order spent a cup of coffee in NXT before wrestling a handful of matches for AEW in early 2020.

A (kayfabe) former star of college football and hockey, Vance's sports career was dogged by injury before being scooped up by the Dark Order. Vance eventually signed with the company and changed his name to "Pres10" (get it?) and had his first match under his new gimmick in May of this year.

His record with AEW currently stands at 10-9 following his victory on AEW's Brodie Lee tribute episode of Dynamite, with most of Vance's matches coming on AEW Dark, teaming with fellow members of his stable.

It's not exactly been a remarkable year for Vance, but at only 28 he hopefully has a long career ahead of him and, with a solid gimmick already under his belt, the future looks pretty bright.
