AEW Revolution 2021: 10 Things That Need To Happen Before The PPV
7. Reconfigure The FTR/Young Bucks Feud
FTR Vs. The Young Bucks was an amazing match, but it had some very sloppy build. The switching dynamics of The Young Bucks made the match feel more heel Vs heel, rather than the classic heel Vs babyface which was probably intended. The bout turned out to be spectacular, though, and the interaction between the two teams was portrayed beautifully.
However, going forward, AEW needs to adjust their direction with this feud. They now have a simple story to tell. FTR betrayed their own morals and will never do it again. This could either lead them on the path to victory or could be their downfall. It was the slightest tactical error that cost them the championships at Full Gear, and they know it.
The Young Bucks should be pure babyfaces now. They blurred the lines slightly in the build by super-kicking Tony Schiavone and everything became muddled. Instead, position them as top babyfaces looking for their next challengers. FTR can then redeem themselves by defeating all comers, eventually leading to the rematch at Revolution.
This shift in perspective could add more heat to their inevitable rematch and it could potentially improve on the foundations that were built at Full Gear.
