AEW Revolution 2024: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

3. Darby Allin Turns On Sting

Right, onto the worst of the worst that could blight Sting's farewell.

Tackling this is a depressing task for the chap writing this. He's always been a massive Sting fan (only goth kid who turned up for a 10th birthday party dressed as him), and it doesn't sit well to imagine that AEW could ruin his chance to say goodbye properly following an epic career spanning NWA/WCW, TNA, WWE and All Elite.

Wrestling struggles with the thought of saying goodbye and leaving it at that though, doesn't it? That's why Darby Allin could turn on his mentor right at the end of Revolution and send Stinger packing. In theory, that'd give Allin a star-enhancing rub, but does anyone actually want to see it happen?

It'd be a swerve for the sake of a swerve. Strap in, because Tony Khan could well book a much worse swerve that'd be so foul it'd even make those who enjoyed WCW's torturous 2000 output wretch. Brace yourselves for this...
