Fightful Select is reporting that WWE has spoken to Kevin Owens about inking an extension on his current contract, but that no official agreement has currently been made between both parties. It's understood that KO is happy in WWE and will probably stay, but...then there's the AEW question.

Tony Khan would almost definitely be interested.

AEW have expressed an interest in signing Owens before, but obviously can't make a move on him until he enters free agency. In other words, the ball is in WWE's court. Or, to be blunt, perhaps the ball is firmly in KO and his agent's court - they're the ones who could leverage an even better deal for Kev should he stay put.

It's a win-win scenario for the wrestler.

Owens is a key part of WWE's SmackDown brand at the moment. He's in a tag-team with Randy Orton, but also has a slow burn story in the works opposite Cody Rhodes. That ties into Cody's unexpected partnership with Roman Reigns and the bigger Bloodline story.

It's understood that KO's current WWE deal runs out later this year. Could he be the next major WWE name to jump over to AEW, or will he sign an extension with Triple H? Over to you, Kevin!
