AEW's Texas Chainsaw Massacre crossover drew positive reactions from the right people behind the scenes this week.

This week's special 'Fight for the Fallen' episode of Dynamite played hosted to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match between Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy, featuring an appearance from the film's saw-wielding antagonist, Leatherface.

This was ahead of the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game dropping today, with AEW chief Tony Khan confirming the promotion would be donating all sponsorship revenue to benefit the Maui Food Bank in Hawaii.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that AEW landed a "sizeable six-figure payday" for the crossover, which was done in conjunction with Warner Bros. Discovery.

WBD, whose TNT and TBS networks air all AEW-branded programming, were reportedly "thrilled" with how the partnership played out. AEW's media partners intend on "seeking out additional potential opportunities in that vein."

In a separate backstage report, PWInsider states that AEW had originally talked about making the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match a cinematic affair, before turning it into a live match. Accommodating WBD's request meant AEW had to shift this week's television plans around, with the network happy with the crossover viewership these co-promotion opportunities bring.
