As mentioned earlier, the recent Eliminator Tournament acted as a means for lesser-known talents to grab the bull by the horns and impress the AEW faithful.

Maki Itoh used her opportunity to knock the bull out with a headbutt and sing over its unconcious body.

The Fired Idol has, appropriately enough, struck a chord with AEW's fanbase in her handful of appearances with the company. Despite losing both her matches in Japan Maki's debut on American soil was warmly received by the audience, showing how over Itoh has become in her short time with AEW.

Maki's gimmick - a psychotic, potty-mouthed pop idol - makes her stand out even in the bizarro world of wrestling, and she plays her character perfectly. Watching her sing her theme song on the entrance ramp on last week's Dynamite, totally oblivious to the brawl taking place in the ring, popped the fans and perfectly encapsulated her self-obsessed persona.

Maki Itoh may not be Manami Toyota in the ring, but her one-of-a-kind character is damn entertaining. Itoh may be heading back to Japan, but hopefully it's only a matter of time before she dances her way down the AEW entrance ramp again.
