AEW Worlds End 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

1. Or Worse, It’s Tony Khan!

Uh oh.

Thus far, Tony Khan has restricted his TV role to sporadic announcements. He's presented as a fan-friendly authority figure who just wants to put on the best matches possible, but that could change. What if Khan is about to do his best Vince McMahon/Eric Bischoff/Vince Russo?

The Devil might well screw MJF out of the World Title, then rip off the mask to reveal Tony as he goes all Higher/Greater Power and says, 'It was me, Max. It was me all along, Max!'. That'd get people talking, yes, but it'd limit what's possible with The Devil and MJF generally. It isn't like Khan is gonna pull on some tights and work a match, is it? Oh God, is it?!

Without being cruel, Tony isn't the most engaging TV personality. He's fine for an announcement here or there, but the thought of him warring with MJF heading into 2024 is too much to take. Sadly, Khan wouldn't be the first pro wrestling figurehead to believe he's the industry's next top heel.

Not everyone is Vinnie Mac in 1998 though.
