AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen

3. AEW Hype Blood & Guts Hard

Forbidden Door was called AEW's "In Your House" pay-per-view during the intro. That wasn't meant as an insult - there were some great IYH 'B' shows over the years, but they were typically vehicles to hype something bigger. That, in 2022, is next week's Dynamite: Blood & Guts special.

The gritty cage bout show should be Tony Khan's priority on Sunday night.

It's worth layering Forbidden Door with heavy hype for Blood & Guts. Honestly, shove multiple video packages in there, have the announcers talk about it like the thing is f*cking WrestleMania, and go hard during the otherwise-uninteresting six man pitting JAS and Suzuki vs. Eddie Kingston's crew.

There's no good reason why All Elite would spurn the chance to sell one of their most impressive gimmicks to some new customers. New Japan hardcores will be tuning in to see their favourites this weekend, and they might be tempted to stick around to check out some more AEW afterwards.
