AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen

2. Jon Moxley Wins The Interim Title

CM Punk's injury announcement was one of the most depressing pieces of news pro wrestling has had this year. The comeback king won AEW's top prize at Double Or Nothing, then had to tell the world that he was stepping away to heal up. Credit to his boss for backing him though (even if the interim thing is unwanted).

Forbidden Door can make the best of a crap situation.

Jon Moxley is the ideal man to steer the ship on Dynamite and Rampage in Punk's absence. He's over as hell with the fans, can work with all shapes and sizes, and the man can also talk with the best of them. So, basically, putting the interim AEW World Title on Hiroshi Tanahashi instead would be a mistake.

Tana won't be on AEW TV every single week, and that's what the promotion needs right now. Mox winning, then going on a march before Punk's return, sounds like the only way to salvage this unfortunate mess.
