Having made his AEW debut back on the 4 June episode of AEW Dynamite, the former Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas has now filed to trademark his new ring name.

The one-time NXT Champion put in the trademark request for “Andrade El Idolo” on 17 June, with the “first use” and “first use in commerce” dates listed as 4 June for this moniker – which ties in with that aforementioned AEW debut.

This trademark filing was put in with the United States Patent & Trademark Office for purposes of, amongst other things, “entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality” and for merchandise such as shirts, hoodies and hats.

Andrade was granted his WWE release on 21 March and was introduced as the latest client of Vickie Guerrero on that 4 June Dynamite. Since then, the highly talented star has made it known that he has interest in both the AEW TNT Title and the AEW World Championship – with him also due to challenge current AEW World Champ Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Title at TripleMania XXIX on 14 August.
