AEW's Backstage Morale Has Improved In 2025, "Less Division" Amongst Wrestlers (AEW News)

Backstage morale is high in AEW these days.

Per Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful Select, morale is seemingly high backstage in AEW these days.

As SRS noted in his latest Select Answers, while he's not been there to experience it himself, AEW talent he's spoken to dating back to last year have indicated that morale is better than it's been previously. To be specific, the term "less division" was used when discussing the backstage environment of Tony Khan's promotion.

Of course, there have been times over the years when we've had various reports of certain issues behind the scenes in AEW, not least in the aftermath of All Out 2022 and later All In 2023. As part of that, the initial launch of AEW Collision saw that show usher in a soft brand split of sorts to keep certain talents away from one another.

On top of that, there was a time when it felt like barely a month went by without rumblings of some sort of backstage altercation, such as the Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara fight, or even the reports last year of an incident between Britt Baker and MJF. It also didn't help the wider perception of AEW that such stories regularly made their way out to the public space, rather than being kept in-house and treated solely as internal matters.

Now, though, it appears that the atmosphere is a lot more positive backstage in AEW, with 2025 so far seeing pretty much zero reports of unrest, bar those talents who sought - and have subsequently been given - their release earlier in the year.
