AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes has some serious political aspirations for when he eventually retires from professional wrestling.

Speaking to Bleacher Report prior to last week's Full Gear 2020 pay-per-view, Rhodes outlined his desire to run for the United States Senate in Georgia, amongst other things:-

"I have a ton of desire to do more acting so long as it doesn't conflict with my job here. I'm 35, and I said I only wanted to wrestle for five more years. I have political aspirations. I would love to run for the Senate in the great state of Georgia. I want to help with the sphere of influence I have created."

Rhodes went on, stating his belief that "if you do the work, it will pay off," while calling his wife Brandi "incredibly hardworking."

Cody is in an interesting spot in AEW at the moment. Full Gear saw him lose to long-time rival Darby Allin, dropping the TNT Championship in the process. That the duo were ambushed by Team Taz after the bout, before being saved by Will Hobbs, opens up all kinds of storytelling possibilities.
